  1. Heartbreaking finish
  2. This should have started happening 6 months ago. I'm all for it and can't wait!
  3. I would give us a 20% chance of not coming in 5th
  4. If anything it gives us a chance to see the young pitchers in the majors
  5. This isn't a blow to our chances of contending. We never had a chance.
  6. Buy out and get a pitcher who contribute.
  7. Terrible for Morrow, kind of irrelevant for this mess of a team
  8. Hopefully we'll move on from him and get some real starters
  9. We will win
  10. How many times is the pitcher going to perform exactly according to his peripherals in a single game? I would guess not very often. Therefore you could say the pitcher was "lucky" or "unlucky" almost every game. The predictive stats should be used for just that, predictions, not for evaluating a single game in regards to the outcome of the game.
  11. I agree, but we're talking about this game and saying that Santos blew it. Advanced stats say he will do better, but he still cost us this game.
  12. Ok chief I guess you're fine with Santos tonight because the two HRs were just bad flyball luck
  13. Why does it seem like every time we lose you're in here telling us how it wasn't the pitchers fault, but rather luck. It would seem like we should be in first if we had decent luck! Actually you could probably say any pitcher who has a bad outing with a lot of hits and HRs given up had "bad luck" because of inflated single game BABIPs and HR/FB. You need to take a step back and realize that there is an important place for advanced stats, but the most important thing is the result of the game. You can't remove all of the fault from a closer who gives up two HRs and a blown save just because of bad HR/FB luck.
  14. Time to step up and win
  15. I don't want to blame the refs, but the refs have been horrendous in many of these games. It's not the number of fouls it's the difference is what it takes to call a foul on each team. We missed so many chances to get back in it with tons of missed 3s. Terrible defense in the first half too
  16. But I thought he was bound for regression because advanced stats said he was pitching well.
  17. Looks like Morrow won't go very deep in this game once again.
  18. Embarrassing play all around in the first half. Refs are garbage as well and JV being out with fouls is a big deal.
  19. Kinda weird when advanced stats regress to what the observations say
  20. No defense, no calls, nets hitting everything
