As a former catcher, I can tell you that you can appreciate the defensive potential of a catcher in a league of advanced baseball (College, university), you dont need to wait for the saber data.
Players like Trea there are many. Players like Pentecost are very hard to find.
Catcher who can hit, run OVER Speedy SS
After Thomas de Wolf signed with the New York Mets in 2008 to become the first player born and raised in Belgium in the Minor Leagues, Belgian Baseball has a second prospect. 18-year-old outfielder Sam Buelens, who becomes 19 on December 27, signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.
In 2014 Buelens played for the Borgerhout Squirrels and won the championship in the Belgian Division I. He appeared in 34 games and batted .348 (OBP .448/SLG .430) with six extra base hits, 50 runs, 23 RBI and 31 stolen bases (in as many attempts). He also was on the roster for the Belgian National Team for the European Championship in Regensburg and the Czech Republic, but received only a single at-bat in the process.
