I'm willing to pay the league compensation for that mistake because the Taveras death got this whole thing rolling.

I've never understood why any deaths warranted compensation. Why shouldn't career ending injuries warrant compensation? In both cases, the player is of no use to you. Risks and bad luck are an inherent part of fantasy sports. Should Devon Travis have returned compensation after weird injuries destroyed his career?
