  1. My lack of familiarity with dynasty leagues bit me in the ass there. Oddly enough, I think I'll be most at peace with the Holliday/Kuroda deal in a couple years because Correa is looking like he's gonna be a monster and that was the trade I felt worst about in regards to the return. If I could go back in time, I'd definitely not have valued high picks as much as I did.
  2. Given our lack of faith in the front office, I think it is reasonable to guess that Janssen wasn't moved because he was viewed as too important to next year's campaign. We don't know if there was a deal out there, but we can make assumptions based on deals in the recent past. - Pirates traded Octavio Dotel to L.A. for James McDonald and Andrew Lambo. - Nationals traded half a season of Matt Capps (who was having a career year in an otherwise s***** career) for Wilson Ramos and Joe Testa. Boom, that would be an instant 2 win upgrade on JPA. - Astros traded Brad Lidge and Eric Bruntlett for Michael Bourn, and two other scrubs. Think this one kinda worked out. If those deals were out there, and I assume there had to be a few, Alex is an idiot. We'll never know, but does anyone think he'd have pulled the trigger if someone offered a catcher upgrade?
  3. Neither deal was forgivable. Both of them were firable offenses imo.
  4. I was about to write an all caps post about posting stuff already posted before I realized the title had been changed. It needs to be changed back.
  5. Jesus Christ, Miltstar? Is that you?
  6. I'd love him back at around 8 mil, but like BTS said in another thread, he'll probably be a Ray next year.
  7. Eric Chavez is an example of a good bench player. Incredible that you seem to think that DeRosa could only possibly be replaced on the bench by an MVP calibre player. Are you high?
  8. You probably nailed it. He'll probably regress and people will claim it's Maddon's magic.
  9. Didn't you just get the feeling that Yunel would end up in TB after he was dealt to Miami? Actually, even before that, Friedman was probably on high alert right after the eye black incident.
  10. Great line. I lol'd.
  11. It's truly amazing that people, simultaneously, whine about how inaccurate WAR is, 90% of the time using Zobrist as the poster boy, while also scratching their heads at how many games the Rays win every year. Usually people just credit the Rays' success to high draft picks every year and good pitching.
  12. You bros should hug it out.
  13. I had a major brain fart and picked up Danny Salazar in the DDL...dropped him now, but my bad on that.
  14. He hurt wittle Ricky's feelings, though.
  15. I think I'm going to peace out here. These guys are just too stupid for me to comprehend. People cheering for a team in St. Louis, one of the dirtiest shitholes in the world, laughing at people from a country where the the average person is fitter, happier, wealthier and having more sexy times than someone from 'merkuh. Ignorance is bliss.
  16. They are not the trolls. They are the trollees. You must be unfamiliar with the history between us and these dumb f***s.
  17. Yeah, my jaw dropped in amazement.
  18. I haven't had this much fun since I got banned from the Angels board.
  19. Apparently Gandhi is their voice of reason. He wanted to make a wager with me regarding Rasmus getting an MVP vote.
  20. "Let's talk about Colby's eigenvalue. I see something of low degree and constantly swapping direction. That is a joke. The point of the joke is that when you start getting into abstractions and these statistical contraptions that move you further and further away from the field you forget what is actually happening in real time. Then as you tool around a whirl of numbers, which might theoretically give weight to a player's value where there is none, you find that you no longer see or care about the game and end up cheering over a number that is not a W. You become less a baseball fan and more of a fan of stats. You guys have reduced yourselves to cheering about WAR. If you ever get a chance to step back and examine what that means you might feel a little sheepish. And that's when Okie will sneak up behind you." I am really amused by how many of these braindead downies are laughing at us little Canadians and our lack of understanding while spewing out crap like this. This is a well stated post in the land of the True Cardinals.
  21. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_08_06_atlmlb_wasmlb_1&mode=video&content_id=29486455&tcid=vpp_copy_29486455 Holy f***, Harper's gone up quite a few notches after this interview.
  22. Lol, some old fart on there started his anti saber stuff and whined about two plays by Jon Jay that don't show up on the stat sheet...except that saber stats give a tangible value to those events. I pointed this out and he just said I failed massively at trying to educate him. Old people are the worst.
  23. Laughed my ass off at how universally despised Damien Cox is. Unbelievable that this f***ing turd burglar has a job writing his opinions for money. "OH, and of course I'll have to point out that Damien Cox and Steve Simmons (who probably shouldn't count but do occasionally foray into baseball writing, Simmons more than Cox) are the two worst writers/biggest asshats in the history of the printed word. Seriously, Gutenberg should be exhumed and sodomized for unleashing them on us all." "Damien Cox, Toronto Star: Giant f***ing idiot. Famous for accusing Bautista of doing steroids in this ******** pussy-footing "hey, just gotta ask the question!" routine. Hockey writer who doesn't know s*** about baseball. Can't write about the Jays without a ham-fisted hockey analogy." "Is Damien Cox the worst sportswriter in Toronto? I'm not too sure, but the question should be asked." "This and That Brian Burke blah blah blah Afghanistan...Phil Kessel never backchecks and pouts a lot...Toronto Maple Leafs yadda yadda plan the parade suits eat sushi in front row yadda yadda...you know that story that everyone started reporting on weeks ago? Here's my take on it, which just so happens to be an exact summary of the conventional wisdom that has emerged...and hey, whatever happened to Rob Ducey?" "I disagree with your comments on Damian Cox. Calling him a "Hockey writer who doesn't know s*** about baseball" implies that he knows something about hockey. That is completely false. He is just the worst." Lulzzzzzz
  24. Lol saw this on the article page:
  25. Way to butcher the title.
