    The method of determining defensive value for Alomar is much different and less accurate than what is used now. That being said, I wonder if Alomar suffers from Derek Jeter syndrome. I was only a kid when Robbie played here, so I can't say, but I think a lot of people have it in their minds that he was the best ever and it's sacrilege to even question it.

    - JPA is given a 5/60 contract. - Sign Roy Halladay for 2/25 - Sign Yuniesky Betancourt because he's probably a nice guy and looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid. Starting 2B. - Let Josh Johnson sign a low cost incentive laden contract with the Rays or Cardinals. - Trade for Jeff Locke. Maybe Gose + Osuna.

    Because the sample size would be too small. This FO reacted to LESS THAN AN INNING to decide that Nolin wasn't ready, I am worried about what a BABIP fueled September could mean for Goins going forward. Of course, him becoming a good player would be wonderful but there's no way we'd be able to deduce what he is after a couple hundred PAs, if that. I don't care if he plays the rest of the year but there's no way he should be in the discussion next year, no matter how well he hits.

    Yeah, because I try not to make a habit of basing my opinions and beliefs on meaningless conjecture. When a guy sucks at hitting, I find that most media personalities allude to him being a great defender in an effort to say something nice.
