  1. It's more likely he's just a neutral thing. Sometimes managers just have these weird obsessions. Walt Weiss rests Tulowitzki more often than Hundley. Don Mattingly gives too much of Turner's PT to Alberto Callaspo. Not to come across as defending Gibbons because I don't think playing Navarro this much is defensible at all, just that hoping a manager change will alleviate all the PT concerns it is probably not realistic.
  2. Woo hoo, #4 starter ceilings
  3. Losing to me, KK or Gibbers is probably a bigger wake up call.
  4. There's this magical place called AAA.
  5. Currently he is garbage. Or to be more objective, not very good and in fact pretty bad. I've made no claims that he will always be bad, just that I'd rather trade him than bank on it.
  6. And even though Maddux didn't strike out guys like Johnson or Martinez, I'd easily pick him for my all time top 5 rotation.
  7. What he is currently and what he could be in the future are obviously two different things. How is that not obvious?
  8. Any more non-relevant examples you'd like to pull out? Maybe put the final nail in the coffin by condescendingly mentioning Greg Maddux?
  9. Here we go again. Time to abandon thread.
  10. How about you check the correlation for swinging strikes with k-rate and see if your little example holds true in the broader picture.
  11. Roy Halladay also didn't walk anyone, and he threw a ton of innings. His best years also came when he was able to tick his k-rate up to 7-8. He is not an apt comparison, he has over 2700 innings of tangible results and impeccable command, two things Sanchez doesn't have.
  12. Intent on being obtuse or would you actually care to debate the merits of this argument?
  13. No one is giving up on him. That is just a narrative you and your ilk run with to justify your confusing rage.
  14. What are the odds of a batter not getting out if: a) there's a fairly decent chance he won't make contact with the ball and if he can't just lay off pitches and take a free base Missing bats is important. Having good command is important. You can wish all you like that those two things are inconsequential but you're wrong. Source: Entire history of baseball.
  15. ^ doesn't understand the fundamentals of pitching. Womp womp.
  16. I'm not going to take the bait o2. I'm being good.
  17. Did you just highlight a start where he walked 5 batters in 7 innings while striking out 3 as being "good?" Because that's not very good, and most of those are not very good.
  18. Same issue with Pompey, Norris, Nolin...the trigger finger is quick and decisive. How DARE you try to be a rookie on this team (except Sanchez cuz ERA.)
  19. Oh I see. I've insulted a hero. By stating facts.
  20. Jesus Christ see, you can't gloss over this. Also, lol @ some 100 post jabroni telling me to delete my account.
  21. Let's stick to one gloomy piece of news at a time, shall we? I have no doubt Ed Rogers or whatever dumbass on the board who is too dumb for anything important will be assigned to look after the Jays. I hope Rube and AA aren't fired at the same time.
  22. I can just picture the drool on the keyboard.
  23. Yeah, usually that's the point of rhetorical questions, right? Because you might not be aware, this is also rhetorical.
  24. In this specific instance I am referring to Boyd and how Sanchez has all the rope he wants to keep being one of the worst pitchers in baseball because Dumbf*** AA still uses ERA as a front office executive, Dickey sucks and, I dunno, maybe give the f***ing guy a legitimate chance? How any rookie can perform on this team with the threat of a quick demotion looming is beyond me. Pompey could have stroked lineouts every at bat but if his batting average got too low, it's off to AAA. The lack of analyical ability in this f***ing dumb FO is frightening. Bunch of stupid f***ing morons who probably still laugh at teams who are smarter than they are.
  25. Why am I a fan of such a f***ing dumb team...
