    I don't agree with this but I do think Hurl hit the nail on the head. This trade was for a) optics and small salary dump. Giving guys like Tulo and Martin a chance to find a home with elite teams in the twilight of their careers can only be a good look. They did it with Granderson as well last year. From that perspective, fine. From purely a Blue Jays point of view, I'd much rather just have Martin play out his last year while mentoring Jansen and playing a super utility role but I understand that making the team look pro-player is important too. Brito and Sopko are just filler guys. Basically the next Joe Biagini and Ryan Goins.

    Because Martin still has some use, we're still paying the vast majority of his remaining money and our reward is 2 org guys.

    I don't see how adding financial stress and starving your f***ing players can possibly good for the farm system as a whole. It's amazing that some guys stick with it for so long.

    I can see that people upvoted it and a guy responded so maybe? I dunno. I don't have high hopes for Reddit. Why they'd prefer to bury this is beyond me. We aren't just promoting ourselves, we're promoting an overlooked guy that all of us actually believe in. He's instantly become one of my favourite prospects in the entire system.

    Yep, that part really made me contemplate if I wanted to keep supporting this league. It actually disgusts me. They pay Tulo 40 million to play for the Yankees while they have minor leaguers living off the scraps from the team spread. This has got to change. I'm not fan of virtue signaling or moral grandstanding but s*** like this is why a completely free market can't work. I absolutely loved the part where he talked about each affiliate having a dedicated dietician and then the players not being able to afford the things they were told to eat. Mind boggling. Also, they are required to attend extended Spring, but are not required to be paid. I don't want to invoke this term, but how the hell is this not slavery?

    No, that was live. My soundboard is awesome now. The problem is that these dumb dumbs don't press push to talk when they laugh

    Believe me, I tried. You would not believe how many people record tv clips by taking a video of their TV. That was the only one I could find with good quality.
