MLB:
No Important Notes Today.
Jays:
Buehrle got his season off to an outstanding start April 2, striking out 11 while yielding four hits in 8 2-3 innings of a 3-0 win at Tampa Bay. Buehrle followed that up six days later by battling through 5 1-3 innings, allowing one run while scattering eight hits in a 5-2 win over Houston. However he owns an 8.16 ERA while losing three straight starts to Baltimore, two of which came there while surrendering 11 runs and four homers in 9.1 innings.
Melky Cabrera is trying to become the first member of the Jays to open a season with a 13-game hitting streak since Joe Carter's 16-game run to start 1992. He is batting .327 after going 2 for 6 on Saturday and hitting .323 with a .508 slugging percentage in 16 visits to Camden Yards.
Colby Rasmus homered in the top of the ninth on Saturday night, upping the Blue Jays' Majors-leading total of April and May home runs since the beginning of last season to 48. The center fielder is 11/28 (.393) with five doubles, three homers, five RBIs and six runs over his past seven meetings with the Orioles.
Orioles:
Jimenez is 2-1 with a 4.61 ERA in five career starts versus Toronto, but he allowed one run in 12 innings while going 1-0 in two starts with Cleveland last year. The right-hander gave up four runs and eight hits with five walks while getting pulled with two outs in the fifth of a 4-2 road defeat to the New York Yankees.
Steve Lombardozzi is giving the Orioles some punch at the plate, going 6 for 17 in his last four games. He came up big Saturday, connecting for a triple before scoring on David Lough's hit in the 12th inning.
After finishing 29-9 in one-run games in 2012, Baltimore went 20-31 in games decided by one run in 2013. The Orioles are 3-2 in one-run games so far in 2014.
