Jays: Buehrle has yielded four earned runs and 16 hits in 19.2 innings to win all three May starts. The left-hander allowed a season-high five walks but two runs in six innings of a 7-3 home win over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. Buehrle, who's won all four road starts this year with a 0.92 ERA, is 6-2 with a 2.95 ERA in eight career starts at Texas. He gave up one total run in two outings against the Rangers in 2013, going seven innings and allowing four hits both times, highlighted by an 8-0 victory at Arlington on June 14. Adam Lind had two hits Friday and has batted .381 in his last six games. He's 9 for 17 in the last four on the road against the Rangers, who have dropped 13 of 18 and been shut out twice during a three-game skid. Winners of a season-high four straight road contests, the Blue Jays have outscored the Rangers 26-4 during a five-game winning streak in Arlington. Rangers: Ross went 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in his first three starts but has gone 0-4 with a 7.76 ERA in the last five. He's posted a 9.98 ERA while losing three consecutive outings. Ross has managed to pitch better in each of those three successive defeats. He gave up four runs over the first two innings Sunday but settled down and allowed one more in a 6.2-inning performance in a 5-2 home defeat to Boston. The Rangers are 7-8 when the opponents start a left-hander while the Blue Jays are 6-6. Adrian Beltre is one of the few Rangers producing, batting .389 (7/18) in the past four contests while ex-Jay Alex Rios is 2/14 in the same time frame. Jays: Hutchison is 0-3 with a 4.95 ERA in seven starts since winning his season debut April 1. The right-hander yielded three runs, three hits and a season-high four walks over 4.1 innings of Sunday's 9-3 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels. First baseman Adam Lind went 13 for 30 with three homers and 10 RBIs as Toronto took six of seven from the Rangers last season, including all four meetings in Texas by a combined 24-4 score. The Blue Jays are 11-10 on the road this season, winning their last three. The Blue Jays haven't finished a season with a winning road record since going 45-36 in 2003. They were 66-96 on the road the past two seasons, tied with the White Sox for the second-worst road mark in the AL. But they did manage a four-game sweep in Arlington last summer. Rangers: Darvish had everything working last Friday, striking out 12 over 8.2 innings of an 8-0 win over Boston. The right-hander appeared to give up his first hit with two outs in the ninth inning, but was ultimately charged with two after Major League Baseball reversed the scoring on an earlier play that was originally ruled an error. Banged-up Texas hopes Darvish has many more such nights with left-handed starters Matt Harrison and Martin Perez going on the disabled list Wednesday, with both possibly out for extended periods. The Rangers have used 38 players - 22 of those who have pitched - this season. The Rangers have dropped 12 of 17 and have a losing record this late in a season for the first time since 2009. They had taken 15 consecutive series from Houston before losing two of three there this week, falling 5-4 in walkoff fashion Wednesday. Elvis Andrus, with a third-inning single on Wednesday, has an 11-game hitting streak for the second time this season. They are the longest streaks by a Rangers player this season. 7. Hindsight is always 20/20 but at that time I don't think too many GM's are passing up the opportunity to have Jose Reyes as your starter over GIDP king Yunel Escobar.. Not at the price we paid to get him over here
  8. You can't say that about an injury prone player. Also sulky or not, numbers are numbers. He wasn't a cancer in the clubhouse and was easily a top 5 defensive SS in the majors, what more do you want out of $5M?
  9. I'm not blaming Reyes for that. It's not Reyes's fault that Loria gave him $22M a year like a retard. And it's not Reyes's fault that AA traded for him. I'm not blaming Reyes at all actually. All I'm doing is evaluating his contract. $22MM Is paid to a player who is not an injury threat and can do at least 4/5 of the tools with the exception of a corner OF/1B good glove + offensive powerhouse. Reyes lacks range and lacks power and on top of that he's an injury concern. There's nothing wrong with evaluating a contract bro
  10. Errors are not the right way to evaluate a player's defense. Yunel got to more balls and covered way more ground than Reyes. That's not even debatable. And at $5M you don't expect him to be putting Reyes numbers. But value wise, Yunel's $5M salary easily is more valuable than Reyes's $22M salary
  11. He gets payed to do it all for $22 million. At least with Yunel we get GG caliber defense and health. Reyes can hit. s*** I'm not even counting running as a pro anymore because everytime he pulls up from a slide he seems to be holding his hamstring. The dude is fragile
  12. Or go too a poor country and hand out money yourself too lol
  13. Soooooooooooooo, crap lol I was arguing your point that Happ had a good start today lol
  14. ? He walked 2 and gave up 6 hits lol this is a fluky s*** start He has a 100% strand rate today lol
  15. http://i.imgur.com/8nY9eOb.png Pitching Matchup: http://i.imgur.com/Q3aZT5i.png SP - JA Happ (11.2 IP, 10 BB, 7.71 K/9, 7.71 BB/9, .277 BAA, .294 BABIP, 7.30 FIP) [L] http://i.imgur.com/lpfmMVe.png http://i.imgur.com/Uux7w6g.png SP - Danny Salazar (36.2 IP, 15 BB, 10.80 K/9, 3.68 BB/9, .295 BAA, .384 BABIP, 4.60 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/VOiytfV.png Lineups: http://i.imgur.com/yffBfUr.png Make your picks for the first homer contest hosted by Dylan! Jays: Happ yielded four runs and seven hits - two homers - over 2.1 frames of a 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The Blue Jays have homered in 18 of their 20 home games this season. Overall, Toronto has homered in 19 of its previous 22 games dating back to April 21. The club has outscored its opposition 40-34 over that same span. The Blue Jays allowed 15 runs and 22 hits on Wednesday. It was the first time that's happened since June 24, 2004 against Tampa Bay, when they gave up 19 runs and 24 hits. Indians: Danny Salazar gave up three runs and fanned seven in 6.1 innings while not factoring in a 4-3 win over Minnesota. Cleveland has averaged 6.1 runs and batted .303 while winning six of eight overall. After losing all six to San Francisco and the Los Angeles Angels on their previous trip, the Indians are 3-2 on this six-game trek. The Indians have had their share of inconsistencies on offense this season, but the club remains one of baseball's top teams at controlling the strike zone. Over the past two seasons, Cleveland ranks second to only Tampa Bay in the Majors with a 27.8-percent swing rate at pitches outside the strike zone. Entering Wednesday, the Indians ranked third in the league with 4.01 pitches per plate appearance this year.
