Jays: Dickey has been consistent if unspectacular, posting a 3.95 ERA, 1.295 WHIP and 2.22 K/BB ratio over 21 starts. Home runs have been an issue for the knuckleballer, though, and they tend to come in bunches. He's given up 18, surrendering one in 11 of 21 outings. In a 5-1 loss to the Rangers on Friday, Dickey allowed five runs on six hits, two being long balls, while fanning seven. Toronto was 38-24 on June 6, owning the second-best mark in the American League at that time. Since that point, the Blue Jays posted a record of 14-25, second-worst in the AL. Red Sux: Buchholz had his best start Sunday before the All-Star break, striking out 12 in a three-hit shutout in Houston. He followed that up with a rockier outing --- four runs on 10 hits over six innings Friday against the Royals, but Boston battled back to win, 5-4. In five starts since coming off the disabled list, Buchholz has walked just one and struck out 26. With bad luck on balls in play, a strong walk-to-strikeout ratio always helps overall performance. Nava is batting .410/.467/.462 this month, and has at least two hits in four of his last five starts. He went 3-for-5 Monday and 2-for-3 Sunday with three RBIs. The Red Sox are in the midst of 13 consecutive games against AL East opponents. Jays: Happ is making his first start since giving up five runs in 4 1-3 innings of a 5-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on July 7, but gave up two runs and three hits in 2-3 innings of relief at Tampa Bay on July 12. Toronto is tied for second in the East after going 13-25 since entering play on June 7 with a six-game division lead. Toronto slugger Jose Bautista has not homered in 14 straight games and is 3 for 20 in his last six. Red Sux: Peevy allowed seven runs in 5.2 innings of his first start against the Blue Jays in 2010, but is 3-1 with a 2.13 ERA in six outings since. He yielded a homer to Juan Francisco and four other hits in seven innings of an 8-1 victory at Rogers Centre on April 25. Since then, the right-hander has gone 0-8 with a 5.21 ERA in 14 starts. Peevy, however, has a 2.84 ERA despite going 0-2 and receiving three runs of support while on the mound in his last three. He gave up three runs and struck out nine in seven innings of a 3-2 loss at Houston on July 12. Ortiz's 453rd career home run in the fifth moved him past Boston great Carl Yastrzemski into 36th place all-time. He's 5 for 27 in his last seven games against the Blue Jays, but four of those hits were home runs. Ortiz has 35 homers at Rogers Centre, his most at any park besides Fenway. Alex Rodriguez, with 36, has hit the most long balls of any visitor to Toronto's home stadium. Victorino went on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain May 24 and suffered a back injury while on rehab. He returned to action for the final two contests of the Red Sox three-game series against the Royals, going 3-for-7 with a double while playing right field. Farrell said a four-game series on the turf at Rogers Centre means the club will monitor the 33-year-old a little closer than usual. Jays: Hutchison, who is 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA in two career starts against the Red Sox, has surrendered nine runs over 11 innings in consecutive defeats. The right-hander is 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA in seven home starts. Melky Cabrera keyed the Blue Jays' 9-6 win on Sunday with a tie-breaking, go-ahead home run in the seventh inning, then a two-run single in the eighth to provide some much-needed insurance. Cabrera had his fingerprints all over the series, finishing 7-for-13 with a double, a homer and three RBIs in the three games. He collected six hits in the final two games, both Blue Jays wins. Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos said he'd like to use right-hander Brandon Morrow in some capacity this season. Morrow is on the 60-day disabled list with a torn tendon sheath in his right index finger, but he'll head to the team's training complex in Florida this weekend to continue his rehabilitation. Rangers: Lackey is 5-8 with a 5.43 ERA in 20 starts against Toronto for his second-worst ERA against any AL club. David Ross clubbed a two-run home run off Kansas City starter Yordano Ventura in the team's 6-0 win. He now has four home runs in his last 10 games. Brock Holt is 14 for 28 over his last six games for Boston and entered Sunday as one of baseball's best two-strike hitters with a .265 average. He went 5 for 9 in the last series against Toronto between May 20-22. 5. http://i.imgur.com/AEa8UJn.png Pitching Matchup: http://i.imgur.com/8TkusdW.png SP - Mark Buehrle (162.1 IP, 32 BB, 5.29 K/9, 2.28 BB/9, .262 BAA, .293 BABIP, 3.71 FIP) [L] http://i.imgur.com/7E2JV9v.png http://i.imgur.com/faG828d.png SP - Nick Tepesch (56.1 IP, 21 BB, 5.59 K/9, 3.36 BB/9, .250 BAA, .266 BABIP, 4.96 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/hTVQvum.png Lineups: http://i.imgur.com/o5Brqgi.png Make your picks for the first homer contest hosted by Dylan! Jays: After opening 10-1 with a 2.10 ERA, Buehrle has gone 0-5 with a 3.60 ERA since June 7. The veteran left-hander was removed after laboring through a season-low five innings in his final appearance before the break, yielding two runs and nine hits last Friday in an 8-5 win at Tampa Bay. Buehrle is 13-5 with a 3.12 ERA against the Rangers, including 2-0 with a 1.95 mark in his last four matchups. He surrendered two runs over 6 2-3 innings but didn't receive a decision in a 4-2 win at Texas on May 17. Melky Cabrera has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games. He went 3-for-4 with a double on Saturday. Max Pentecost, the Blue Jays' 11th overall pick from the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, has hit in all four games (6-for-16) with Class A Vancouver since being promoted from the Gulf Coast League. Rangers: Tepesch is on the verge of losing a career-worst third straight start after yielding three runs over six-plus innings in last Friday's 3-0 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels. Tepesch has gone 0-3 with a 6.52 ERA in his last four road outings while receiving a combined three runs of support. He allowed six runs over seven innings in his only appearance against Toronto, a 6-1 road loss last June 7. Texas, who won 5-1 the night before to snap an eight-game skid, has posted a 4-23 record since June 17. The major league-worst Rangers are hitting .205 with runners in scoring position over that time, including Saturday's 1/8 display. Shin-Soo Choo is hitless in his last 21 at-bats with 11 strikeouts. Leonys Martin is also struggling, going 3 for his last 21. The Rangers haven't gained ground in the AL West since June 16 with a win against Oakland, and they haven't won consecutive games since June 27-28. 6. http://i.imgur.com/pdPbuBW.png Pitching Matchup: http://i.imgur.com/0wGb0Py.png SP - Marcus Stroman (53.1 IP, 13 BB, 7.93 K/9, 2.19 BB/9, .257 BAA, .310 BABIP, 3.44 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/uouniiL.png SP - Colby Lewis (84.0 IP, 26 BB, 7.82 K/9, 2.78 BB/9, .346 BAA, .410 BABIP, 4.17 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/5PrmgXu.png Lineups: http://i.imgur.com/g0i5Q9n.png Make your picks for the first homer contest hosted by Dylan! Jays: Stroman was tagged for six runs and eight hits over 3 2-3 innings July 9 against the Angels, but escaped without a decision in an 8-7 loss. That performance was in stark contrast to the rookie's first seven starts, a stretch in which he posted a 2.08 ERA while completing at least six innings six times. Stroman is 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA in five home starts, walking five and striking out 30. Despite being on the DL, Toronto's Edwin Encarnacion became just the seventh player in MLB history to record 25-plus HRs/70-plus RBIs prior to the All-Star break in consecutive seasons, and the first since Alex Rodriguez and Lance Berkman did it in 2001-2002. Toronto has won six of its last seven series against the Rangers in Toronto, but the Blue Jays will have to win their next two games to make it seven of eight. Rays: Lewis endured a dreadful outing his last time out. He was charged with a club-record 13 runs - 11 earned - over 2 1-3 innings in a 15-6 loss to the Angels on July 10. The righty also gave up a career-worst 13 hits, while his ERA increased by more than a full run. Shin-Soo Choo will not play the outfield at all during the Rangers' three-game series in Toronto, manager Ron Washington said. Choo served as the club's designated hitter Friday and is likely to get a day off so third baseman Adrian Beltre can get a game at DH. Elvis Andrus has had six seasons with at least 20 steals, which is the most 20-steal seasons in Rangers history. He stole his 20th base of the season against the Angels on Saturday.
