The rookie right-hander surrendered five runs and seven hits in three innings of Sunday's 6-1 loss in Houston. Cabrera entered yesterday's game as one of Toronto's hottest hitters. He had hit safely in 17 of his previous 20 games and was batting .392 (31-for-79) with a .455 on-base percentage since July 13. Tigers: Scherzer has allowed three earned runs just once in his last eight starts while going 5-1 with a 2.14 ERA. He wasn't thrilled with his latest outing as he gave up two runs and nine hits with three walks over seven innings of Monday's 2-1 road loss to the Yankees. Miguel Cabrera went 0 for 5 and is 1 for 15 over the past five games. He's 2 for 27 in his last seven against the Blue Jays and is batting .125 in 11 games at Rogers Centre since 2011, his worst at any AL park in that time. The left-hander allowed one run in seven innings and struck out six on Friday in Houston, but the Blue Jays fell 3-1. Happ is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his last three home starts and 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA in last two overall versus Baltimore. He yielded one run in six innings and struck out six in a 5-2 road win over the Orioles on June 15. A dislocated finger put Brett Lawrie on the shelf for six weeks, and the Blue Jays hope another injury won't do the same. Toronto activated Lawrie from the disabled list Tuesday, and the infielder felt his back tighten up during batting practice. Three innings in, he exited when it didn't feel any better. On Wednesday, the Jays sent him for an MRI. However, Adam Lind is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment in the Gulf Coast League on Thursday. Orioles: Gonzalez gave up four runs - three on a homer by Robinson Cano - in five innings of a 6-3 loss to Seattle on Saturday. Gonzalez was 1-0 with a 1.82 ERA in four starts in July and is 1-0 with a 1.66 ERA in his last three on the road. Gonzalez is 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA in his last seven starts against Toronto and did not receive a decision in his only matchup this season, a 9-3 loss April 22. He gave up three runs and four hits in 5 2-3 innings while striking out seven. Showalter said Orioles top prospect Dylan Bundy threw the "best outing he's had" since beginning to rehab from Tommy John surgery. Bundy pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings for Class A Advanced Frederick on Tuesday, allowing five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.. After going a season-low 2 2-3 innings in a 14-1 loss to Boston two starts earlier, the right-hander was tagged for four runs over three innings in Thursday's 6-5 win at Houston. Jose Reyes is a career .340 hitter against the Orioles after going 3 for 4 in the opener. He's batting .379 with 15 runs during a 16-game stretch against division opponents. This marks the latest point in the season that Baltimore and Toronto have met as the top two clubs in the AL East since Aug. 10, 1992. Orioles: Chen is 9-1 in his last 15 outings and has a 2.53 ERA during a five-start winning streak. Chen allowed one run and struck out a season-high eight over 7 1-3 innings to beat Seattle 2-1 on Friday. After homering three times in his first 48 games, O's catcher Caleb Joseph has homered in each of his last three games.. Despite recording 14 hits on Tuesday, Baltimore still has the worst batting average (.223) and on-base percentage (.272) in the AL since the All-Star break. Buehrle yielded four runs over 6 1-3 innings in a 4-2 loss at Baltimore on June 12, dropping to 1-4 with a 5.86 ERA against the Orioles since the start of last year. Melky Cabrera has had his number over the years, going 17 for 30 with two homers in their matchups. Toronto had won six straight and nine of 10 after beating Houston 6-5 on Thursday, but it went on to lose the final three games of that series by a combined 17-4. The Blue Jays fell 6-1 on Sunday to conclude a 6-4 trek. Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes has hit safely in 28 of his last 35 games since June 24. Jose Bautista has reached base safely in 97 of his 106 starts this season, and has reached base safely in 13 straight games since July 22. Orioles: Norris threw seven scoreless innings in Thursday's 1-0, 13-inning defeat to the Los Angeles Angels. The right-hander has already faced Toronto three times this year, going 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA. Baltimore's Nelson Cruz is batting .365 with five homers and 14 RBIs during a 14-game stretch against Toronto. However, Cruz has gone a major league-worst 7 for 70 with one RBI and 18 strikeouts since July 11. Markakis, 8 for 16 in four games this month, is hitting .328 in his last 15 north of the border. Nick Markakis and Adam Jones have played every game this season for the Orioles, making them the only teammates to appear in every game for their club this season. Jays: Stroman is 6-2 with a 2.12 ERA in 11 starts. He didn't allow a run in three of his five outings in July, and the only one he's surrendered over 21 innings in his last three came in a 4-2 victory at Boston on Tuesday. The Blue Jays averaged 6.2 runs and 10.9 runs while winning 11 of 13 prior to the last two contests. They had won every series they'd played since the All-Star break. Navarro is batting .352 with 13 RBIs over his last 18 games and .342 in 11 career contests at Minute Maid Park. Astros: Scott Feldman went 0-3 with a 5.58 ERA in five July starts but is coming off his best performance since April. He allowed a run and five hits over seven innings against Oakland on Tuesday and left with a three-run lead, but Houston gave up six in the ninth to lose 7-4. The right-hander had been 0-3 with a 6.11 ERA against the Blue Jays in 12 games, including seven starts, before winning his last matchup with them. He gave up three runs in 7 1-3 innings of a 7-4 win last season while with Baltimore. Houston, which is closing a 10-game homestand, has averaged 5.8 runs while going 4-2 against Oakland and Toronto this week following a five-game skid. Castro is batting .333 in his last nine games, including three homers and seven RBIs in the past seven. Jose Altuve has hit safely in 14 of his last 16 games. He's vying to become the first player in franchise history to win a batting title. Jays: Toronto scored 12 runs with Dickey on the mound during a stretch where he lost six of seven but posted a 3.54 ERA. That lack of support ended when the Blue Jays scored five runs while Dickey allowed four in six innings of a 6-4 victory over Boston on July 23. They then gave the right-hander plenty to work with while he yielded a run, three hits and struck out 10 in seven innings of a 14-1 rout at Fenway Park on Monday. Toronto averaged 6.2 runs and 10.9 hits while winning 11 of 13 before its winning streak ended with six hits during a 3-1 loss Friday. Navarro is batting .352 with 13 RBIs over his last 18 games and .342 in 11 career contests at Minute Maid Park. Astros: Oberholtzer went 0-6 with a 5.68 ERA in his first seven starts before being sent down to the minors for the first time this season. Since then, he's 3-1 with a 3.15 ERA over his last seven outings, which were interrupted by two more trips to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The left-hander allowed three runs in 6 2-3 innings of a 7-3 victory over Oakland on Monday to improve to 2-0 with a 2.39 ERA in four home starts after going 0-3 with a 9.64 ERA there. He's completed at least six innings in eight straight outings overall. Houston's Gregorio Petit hit his first career homer to break a 1-all tie in the eighth Friday. The infielder is 4 for 13 with two RBIs in four games since he was recalled from the minors to see his first major league action since 2009 with Oakland. Houston's Jose Altuve went 1 for 4 a night after his 12-game hitting streak ended during Thursday's 6-5 loss in the series opener. He's batting an AL-leading .339 but is 0 for 10 against Dickey.
