    Favouring position player prospects is not a bad play, with the intent to sign some Happ types to 3 yr deals, or trade for close to MLB pitching prospects that have demonstrated durability / no loss of velocity. Risk management approach.

    It's better for the Jays to hang on to the deadweight. Jays would have to give up valuable assets to move them, retain most or all of the salary anyway, and package with a guy like Happ and get a low value asset back. Morales, Tulo, Martin contracts all expire in the next year or two. Perfect timing for the Jays to dip into the free agent class of 2020 and get some FA support for Vladito et al show.
