  1. Amir Johnson is a ghost every third game, what don't you get about this? He just had 4 days rest and did nothing all game last night but commit silly fouls because he couldnt move. 2 days on 1 day off isn't something to ever settle for. He's also better than his 54% TS would suggest, he was at close 575 the previous 2 years. Amir is also only going to get worse, 10 years in the NBA is a lot of miles on those legs/ankles for a big man who's already had injury problems. It's pretty laughable that you would actually count on him come playoff time when the game is much more physical. This has nothing to do with Amir's skill level, but the fact that he's falling apart and if we're counting on JV in the playoffs, well then we'll get swept by the Bulls or Cavs
  2. I have no idea what 4 will be available at the trade deadline for a package that doesn't weaken our team in the interim. I'm obviously a lot higher on Faried than you are but that's the type of big our team needs. High energy, great rebounder who can score the ball on a low usage and is active on defense even if his 1 on 1 D is only so so. Just no Greg Monroe, Al Jefferson type player
  3. You really want to count on a guy during the playoffs who can't move at least once a week? Sure he's a great player when healthy but look at how many silly fouls he committed last night because he struggled to move his feet last night. Game 7 last year is actually a perfect example, his legs gave out, fell over on someone and fouled out. He basically died during the playoffs. It's not a bias just a fact. Amir will play a very solid 2 games in a row and then become a non factor when his ankles cramp out.
  4. They deicide to defend 47 minutes into the game lol
  5. That was meant more in direct responses to Amir committing silly fouls because he cant move properly
  6. Yea I don't understand how anyone can disagree with Patterson being our best big. Defends the pick and roll great and is usually solid in his rotations. Amir looks dead at least one game a week
  7. wide open shooter in the corner. LETS JUMP RIGHT AT THE DEFENDER
  8. The trade deadline can't come fast enough
  9. That was him guarding MKG as well when he slipped in for a wide open lay up. You might have missed it because Ross was still at the three point line scratching his ass
  10. Ross still doesn't care on defense. Good stuff
  11. Charlotte Toronto games always seem to be good. I
  12. 4 games out 7th, 3 out of 8th. That's nothing when the teams you're chasing lose more than they win.
  13. Detroit has won 7 games in a row lol. Josh Smith is everything wrong with basketball. He chucked up 20 f***ing shots in 25 minutes against the bulls for 20 points..with 4 turnovers
  14. Patterson has become a solid defender, but he can't rebound for s*** and offensively he has a hard time getting his shots with this group. Patterson is probably our best overall big right now which is kind of s cary thing. Faried is undersized but he's pretty active and isn't the black hole JV is on that end. Amir can die any week now.
  15. We have 27 committed for that off season, just Patterson Lowry and Derozan. Faried's 12 won't make much of an impact on signing someone. (theres rumours it's going to sky rocket up to 80-90 million anyways with the new TV deal) Not always having to rely on Patrick Patterson to be out there for defensive purposes every night would be a nice change of pace.
  16. lol yea Faried would be great here. Another young guy, hustles, runs the court defends somewhat decently well from what I've seen. There's basically zero point in bringing in a big man who needs the ball to be effective. Not sure what difference getting points on set plays or put backs makes. You're not getting him for expirings+ picks though
  17. Remember that time Zaun ripped into Ichiro for not trying to hit more home runs? Called him selfish player that only cared about his AVG
  18. I was actually thinking about Jose the last time they played the Knicks. Im sure there's one team out there that can use GV to anchor their tank. He's signed for 3 more years though at a heft cap hit
  19. Also for all the talk about James Johnson over helping and being to slow getting back out to shooters. Like I said we have much bigger problems to worry about. I.E the clown wearing #21 http://i0.wp.com/espngrantland.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/raptors-4.gif
  20. I wouldnt go that far. From what I remember we were near the bottom when you look at the record where all playoff teams are playing each other. We've have some solid wins and some crappy loses, nothing special. We played the Hawks this year both times before they really took off so there's that as well. There's a very good chance this roster as constructed doesnt get past the second round. We do have a lot of trading chips though that won't hurt our team for this year (3 1st round picks in the next 2 years I believe), Bebe, Ross, Fields expiring. I really hope they do something to improve the roster. I do love this team obviously but what they do best is out work their opponent ( 9 times out of ten) and beat the teams they're supposed to beat. Come playoffs, they aren't going to be able to just out hustle everyone.

Can't count on that PPG type player lol.
  22. Definitely prefer an easy 1st round series vs the Bucks or Nets, it'd be pretty heart breaking to see them lose again in the opening round
  23. I'd put Washington right there with us, probably them ahead by an inch if I wasn't biased. We do match up with them really well though so there's that. Come playoff time, I could see us beating the Wiz in 5 and losing to the bulls in 5, while the Wiz sweep the bulls. Hopefully the Raps pull their heads out of their asses soon and reclaim a top 2 seed. The number 4 seed in the East is going to suck
  24. James Johnson has been great this year, you could find random clips of everyone making lapses on defense. I supposed you could fault him for trying to do to much, but when you're playing with pylons everynight and a coach who won't trust you, s*** happens. Look at the clip against the bulls. Ross can't fight through contact to guard ball screens and Jonas is to dumb/slow to do anything but hang 10 feet back every f***ing time.
  25. “They want to make this about some complex system of rotations, which we’ll do, but it’s really about containing the ball and containing your man one-on-one. Casey still preaches defence first but plays Vasquez and Lou will over Johnson repeatedly.
