  1. You despaired yet? 60 + 61 for 34 is on the table...
  2. It came to me from Silvergun a couple weeks ago. To BALCO PHARM TEAM: #60, #61, #77, #79 To LONDON SLAYERS: #41, #118
  3. May as well, you can render Ranaudo undraftable by dropping him tomorrow. Better than dropping him now. ------- At the moment I'm leaning towards promoting Matt Barnes and dropping Burch Smith (he of the outrageous pre-season Steamer projection). I would trade Barnes for a last-round -> first round MiLB upgrade, or Smith for any upgrade. Cheslor Cuthbert can probably be had for any upgrade too.
  4. From SB Nation: Teams are allowed to go over their total bonus pool allotment, but even going over by small amounts incur harsh penalties. If a team exceeds their budget by between 0-5 percent, they are taxed 75 percent on the amount they went over. If they exceed the budget by 5-10 percent, they suffer the same penalty as 0-5 percent plus they lose their first-round selection in the following draft. Going over by 10-15 percent incurs a 100 percent tax on the overage, plus the loss of first- and second-round picks in the following draft. Anything over 15 percent results in the team paying a 100 percent tax on the overage and the loss of their first-round selection for the next two drafts.
  5. Alright. People have probably done it before, I'm just not sure if it's official protocol. The email says that they dissolve into the ether at 11:59 PM tonight. There was talk of letting them exist until they come up but I don't think anything was decided.
  6. That was w.r.t. trades... not promotions. Promotions are a completely artificial construct created by our Constitution. Not a Yahoo thing. Okay. Would I be able to delay my adding of the prospect by a day? I.e., I announce that I'm promoting the prospect and tomorrow I add him.
  7. If I were to promote a prospect, would a Commissioner insert him into NA for me? I'd prefer not to drop a player to do it. Hypothetically; I haven't made any decisions yet.
  8. I'm eligible next time around! King, do you actually know these players before they're picked, or are you just reciting what you see on Twitter, MLB.com?
  9. Fatcow's still on the board... I don't think I know any available real prospects lol
  10. I'm a little surprised the Padres took Manziel so high. I knew he'd get taken but thought it would be in rounds 35+. They must have anticipated the Astros being aggressive.
  11. They really don't. Kevin Pillar is the only one in recent Blue Jays history. Most draftees in this range are just college guys needed to fill the low minors. The Blue Jays have to fill their Appy, NWL and GCL teams.
  12. Too bad Wiggins isn't eligible. That would've been a great PR opportunity.
  13. We should have taken Manziel. Padres are getting so much good PR. You basically get a free viral internet story, some newspaper articles, and a 30 second spot on SportsCenter. Well worth it.
  14. No he hasn't. 4.98 xFIP. It's only a matter of time before he blows up.
  15. That would only work for a seller with too many high picks, the 50s/60s pick being their last. Which doesn't really describe anyone. Posturing. You and FTD will be singing a very different tune in 11 hours.
  16. There will be more after prospects get cut. You said yourself you were likely to cut Banuelos and acquire a pick! Makes sense to cut Goodwin too IMO.
  17. And don't they only count the overage on $100k against the pool? If spent on one player, we'd then be able to spend $1,420,725.
  18. There's going to be a frenzy for picks at 11:30 tonight. I'm prepared.
  19. Haha this guy is great. He's used the word pimp 11 times in the past month on Twitter lol
  20. Francisco's a league-average hitter. These days you can provide value even with a .300 OBP. A .245/.300/.460 hitter, what I think Francisco probably is, is more than playable.
  21. We won't have any pool money left after signing SRF, can't get him and Bukauskas. Bukauskas would be a good Plan B if SRF doesn't sign though. We could do what we did with Beede and Norris.
  22. Yep. They should probably extend that to the 5-10 rounds... would cut down on shenanigans.
  23. Sure they do! Everything over $100k counts against the bonus pool.
  24. Maurice (Toronto) Would the Jays picking Toronto's own Gareth Morgan over Reid-Foley have been defensible? Klaw (2:13 PM) No. I didn't understand Jays fans' desire for the team to take Canadian players when I worked there and I don't understand it now. This is major league baseball not the freaking World Cup. -------------------- Haha KLaw's reaction is very amusing. We are kind of irrational about Canadians.
  25. Tomorrow at 11:59 PM Eastern, at least that's what the email says. If I make any cuts I'll post them a few hours before then.
