  1. Buxton and Sano for Stanton... I legitimately wonder how that would work out. That would be so f***ing interesting. I'd consider that ERA pretty f***ing bad lol but I've only been following baseball seriously since '08 so I'll take your word for this.
  2. He was coming of a HORRIBLE, Romero-esque season. If anything, the package would have been bigger without him.
  3. This was 100% a fallacy from a troll.
  4. Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee, and Brandon Phillips were dealt in the same deal. For the fat f*** in Wilko's avatar.
  5. That was the other mega-trade. Apparently the salary impact was similar so I think there's a decent enough chance we would have had to take on John Danks and Gavin Floyd and other s***** options. JJ + Dickey + Reyes + Buehrle still > Peavy. Oh, right; Tim Lincecum. The Alex Rios deal that wasn't.
  6. They don't even need an FA stud. It's very possible that all three of those guys could put up 4 WAR seasons simultaneously. And they have some solid guys like Domingo Tapia and Rafael Montero and Luis Mateo who could also form very nice pitchers. That's just horrifying.
  7. I'm not sure how highly regarded Kendrick was at the time, but I know that Mathis wasn't that valuable, and I (was... that's just painful to type) a big Adenhart fan and I know he was a good prospect but not a special one or anything. Not sure on Santana. Who have we missed out on recently? Greinke, Upton, Latos, Gonzalez, who else?
  8. Ah, then I'd agree. Although knowing this org's luck he'll probably never make a DL trip in his Mets career, which will last 20 years and involve 300 wins, 2000 Ks, and multiple dates wrecked from openly weeping, lol.
  9. Ian Kinsler would be a very nice add for this team. Obviously would've been a nicer add three f***ing months ago but regardless. I saw in some youtube moron's MLB The Show franchise he traded Aaron Sanchez for Michael Stutes. I think that was AA, lol.
  10. You could say that about any prospect, and maybe this is willful ignorance, but I don't see why he's more likely to suffer a devastating injury than any other pitching prospect. His delivery doesn't seem too f***ed up.
  11. He doesn't really make all that much money, in relativity. I think saying "young star" rather than "HOFer" would have been better.
  12. Doubt they'd trade him now that he's extended.
  13. Or a similar package for Greinke.
  14. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/05/quick-hits-angels-montero-gomes-dodgers.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook Oh my.

  16. Weber had a 2.12 FIP for the Tucson (?) Padres in AAA in ~34 IP. That number is the best FIP in all of AAA. I think.
  17. Wasn't it at the very, very beginning of May that the forum started? It's over 3 weeks by a bit, I think. Doesn't matter, not the focal point of this discussion. I think all that's stopping us from agreeing here is that we're crossing up terms. I don't think that RBIs are a BAD stat, I just think that they're flawed in that they don't account for the whole picture and that's a flaw in them, and that they're not the best stat for the situation. But they're not bad, which I think you may be implying that I think. Did that sentence make sense? Probably not. I think that you think that I think that they're bad, is what I'm saying... haha, f*** the English language.
  18. Things like that is why I hate people.
  19. I'm going to ignore the entire first paragraph because it's stooping to, well, my level lol. And it isn't three weeks, but ok. What it's meant is to describe is how well a player performs with runners in scoring position, no? Just factoring in that a player can perform well (get a hit, get a walk) with the runner in scoring position doesn't mean that they'll get the RBI, that already shows that the statistic is pretty f***ing flawed.
  20. That can't be real. What the f***?
  21. Women's olympics aside, is there such thing as serious softball?
  22. I tried out for my school team but a bunch of AAA players made it ahead of me.
  23. What's the longest you've gone without sleep?
  24. Greenwood likes the hit tool too much. Greenwood is obviously Kawasaki minus the awesomeness.
  25. BTS' coffees are worth 10 fWAR.
