    I'll do my best to summarize it without giving too much away since I was gonna write it up for Breaking Blue. Radar gun was probably a few MPH low. Had Norris sitting 87-90 max 93 and Nola sitting 88-91 max 92 or 93, so you can probably bump those up a few ticks each since those are way low for both of them. Fastball was going where he wanted it to go and had good late movement. Curveball had a ton of break, it was looking really really impressive today. Best pitch was his changeup. He was mixing speeds really well and showing a lot of confidence in his offspeed pitches. Most encouraging part of the night easily; he had at least 20, if not closer to 30, swinging strikes in 90 pitches. It was ridiculous. EVERYTHING was a whiff. I don't know how he got teed up on so much when every other pitch was a whiff. Had at least 6 swinging strikeouts. Just SO MANY WHIFFS. Nola looked really good too. Might be in line for a callup soon. Will write tomorrow afternoon.

    Having a good RD means that we've played well and that in most cases our record should reflect that more accurately. If our RD continues to be as strong as it has been, it is likely that the record will improve as such. The Jays' record in one run games can be expected to improve as well. "Unlucky" is the common term but it's a misnomer. It can be expected to regress, especially with the quality of our underrated bullpen, despite some peoples' refusal to admit that it's a good pen.

    If you have a good run differential, it's likely that you will be a good team. That doesn't mean you don't attempt to improve. You ALWAYS attempt to improve. But that doesn't mean that you resign yourself to saying "our W/L doesn't match our RD right now so we aren't a good team." If a pitcher's ERA is 60 points higher than his FIP, we say that his ERA is likely to get better. What's different about RD?

    Jim Canuck is right. I forget which book I read it in but one of the flurry of sports books that came out a few years ago did a thing about eyesight deterioration in baseball.

    I hate the Goins talk as much as the next guy but it's not really fair to say that an actual baseball related topic should be bannable as opposed to the thousands of "Well, game over" posts that clog those threads.
