  1. As Spanky said, copy pasta.
  2. I recruited around various locations and hunted down some writers I like. Some of them, like Bob, found me. After seeing his writing I eagerly agreed to give him space to write here.
  3. That's no problem, it's part of my season routine. And in the coming weeks, you're going to see more of @Brandon Glick, who is shadowing me and learning the job. We believe in a very hands-on approach to community and I'm stretched too thin over five sites.
  4. It's theoretically possible but I don't think Bregman, Alonso, AND a Vlad extension are on the table... nor does it make much sense.
  5. It's time to start thinking about the actual season, which is exciting. I wanted to get opinions on game threads. How they're managed is up to the community, we do it all sorts of different ways on different sites. I have a few requirements but they're not really all that important from the end user side of things: 1. Game threads will go in the Blue Jays forum (just as you all did last season). The following morning, I will move yesterday's game thread to the archive forum (where it can still be viewed and posted in) to avoid cluttering the Jays forum with a dozen game threads no longer relevant. 2. We need them posted in the morning so I can do some prep work around promoting them during game time. Nothing too insane, just up by 11am eastern or so. With that said, do you all want me to just create the thread every morning? Or do you all prefer to have a rotating cast of people who create the thread and add their own flavor to that day's thread?
  6. I agree from a pure baseball standpoint but it’s also okay to just pay the homegrown talent and keep them in one jersey.
  7. This is the bane of my existence, to be honest. I've spent years trying to figure out a good solution to this and every solution breaks so many things that it's terrifying to implement. Though recently I've come up with an idea that might work, thinking of giving it a go but it REALLY changes how we operate behind the scenes so I need to get buy-in from several other people on it.
  8. Is it really that big of a problem? I've been trying to move older article threads to the news forum each morning but admittedly, I've been slacking this week. But during the season when I have game threads every morning, I'll be more diligent about making sure this forum doesn't fill up with article threads.
  9. Okay, all old-timey members should now have the ability to click the ... at top right of each post and select delete.
  10. It's turned off by default, just a holdover from our other sites. If people want to be able to delete their content, I'm open to that.
  11. I encourage you to play around with the discover page. It's a cool alternative to browsing the site that you can customize to your liking. https://jayscentre.com/discover/unread/
  12. Most of the site is up and running now. Ads are in place. Content is light but it's also late January; we'll be ramping up content aggressively in the coming month or so. The top prospects ranking is being built out and should launch in late February. So what are your thoughts? What do you like, what don't you like? Go ahead and be honest about it, I genuinely want to know what people think. We try to tailor each site to the community's preferences as much as we can so let me know your thoughts!
  13. Weird time of year, a low vote total was expected. As people come back for the season, the voting process will gain awareness and become more of a thing.
  14. I don't think so but it's certainly possible. They would have to answer to know for sure. I found Mac via a substack they started writing about past Jays players.
  15. Thank you all for taking the time to vote, we will next hold a vote some time in early May once we have a month or so to see how the prospects are doing in 2025. 16. I like the upside play in getting Profar at that price and those years.
  17. There will be ads going forward but we're still figuring out spacing and frequency. One thing I promise is that there won't be interstitial ads that take over the entire page and require you to close them.
  18. Still, I'd keep Alonso for three years if my annual budget is the GDP of a small eastern European nation.
  19. I don't understand why the Mets would ever let this happen but I'm on board if it does. I think getting Alonso on a short-term deal is a pretty huge win.
