  1. You can't sign and trade a player in the MLB... this isn't the NBA, bro.
  2. Man I'm getting rekt, again.
  3. Hahaha... not to mention it isn't allowed.
  4. This is what I keep finding. Meh...
  5. Thanks This site has adjusted salary of 5 million in each year, lol... I don't know, someone's f***ed up. http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/toronto-blue-jays/payroll/2016/ So in the end our projected payroll is just north of 163 million.
  6. Well, explain that... http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-to...lue-jays-info/ I've provided Davidi's article plus RR
  7. I showed you already? Plus the other link, I just posted above.
  8. No, the Padres paid the majority of the contract, it's right here... we owe him 5 million this year. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-verge-acquiring-melvin-upton-jr-padres/ SHI DAVIDI JULY 26, 2016, 3:45 PM TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays acquired outfielder Melvin Upton Jr., and the money to cover the vast majority of the nearly $22 million he’s still owed from the San Diego Padres on Tuesday for rookie-ball right-hander Hansel Rodriguez in a trade designed to add depth, speed and versatility to the roster. Talks between the clubs started when Jose Bautista hit the disabled list with turf toe June 17, but only reached fruition when they settled on the financial component. Upton is due the roughly third remaining on his $15.45 million salary this year plus another $16.45 million in 2017, and the Padres will reportedly cover $17 million of that.
  9. I've tried to tell him this, even posted the information.
  10. What if the Jays did and Fowler took the Cards over the Jays? LOL at the EE comments, your tinfoil hat is killing it, bro.
  11. I just posted the site with the breakdown? http://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-toronto-blue-jays-info/
  12. Well, RR has them paying him 5 this season. *shrugs*
  13. Well if they still have 25 million to spend... an estimated 167.5 million isn't enough? I'd like them to spend more too, but if you have parameters, you have to be smart about it. People can't point fingers at the FO, it's their job to keep within that payroll frame. Scream at Rogers, I guess.
  14. 5 million... you'll see the minus 12 million at the bottom. Money owed by other teams.

  16. Or not... Ohtani may not decide to move to MLB until after the 2019 season when he can become a free agent due to changes in the new collective-bargaining agreement that restrict MLB teams' spending on international free agents under age 25, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports. Analysis: Ohtani is arguably the top prospect in the world as he not only throws 102 mph and had a 1.86 ERA last season, but also hit 22 home runs with a 1.004 OPS as a DH for the Nippon Ham Fighters. Nippon said before the new CBA it had planned to post Ohtani after the 2017 season so he could move to MLB, but the changes cloud that outlook. If Ohtani were to move to MLB via the posting system, he'd be limited to about a $5 million or less annual contract under the new rules rather than the perhaps $20 million or more annual deal he'd get as a free agent. MLB and NPB negotiate their posting agreement each season, so it's possible some rules could change. If not, we may not see the 22-year old Ohtani decide to move to MLB until he turns 25.
  17. Uhmmm... he's posted here for quite awhile now, and has made fun of Orioles Hangout.
  18. Yes, it's AAV.
  19. They could go after both Fowler and Eddy and back-load those contracts as money comes off in the next few years.
  20. We're estimated at 142.5 right now... 167 million is not being cheap, and who knows about that number come the deadline. It's pretty flippin good.
  21. Why do you keep saying this arbitrary number... did Atkins say this? I've asked Ang, but he's MIA...
