  1. At least it's against Sale, he owns the Jays. Wouldn't matter, the other matchups are good.
  2. This year, lol.

Marcus Stroman, RHP... ERA- 3.17, FIP- 3.87, xFIP- 3.62, WAR- 2.8 Stroman continues to chew through innings for the Blue Jays, but the Rays found success against him his last time out. The right-hander allowed five runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings, but is usually a safe bet to bounce back. ERA- 2.88, FIP- 2.07 xFIP- 2.71, WAR- 7.4 After a rough start Thursday against the Indians, Sale will look to rebound, He allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits in a season-low three innings for his second straight loss. ERA- 4.57, FIP- 4.43, xFIP-4.30, WAR- 2.0 Porcello had one of his toughest starts Friday against the Orioles, giving up 11 runs (four earned) on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. It broke a string of four straight wins. He has allowed a career-high 31 homers this season. J.A. Happ, LHP... ERA- 4.10, FIP- 3.88, xFIP- 3.94, WAR- 1.9 Happ was hit around by the Twins in his last start, but outside of a two-run double that he left over the plate and some control issues that came and went, the veteran left-hander mostly avoided hard contact. By Quinn Roberts / MLB.com The Red Sox begin a pivotal seven-game road trip Monday against a pair of American League East foes, with the first stop coming in Toronto against the Blue Jays for a three-game series. Left-hander Drew Pomeranz takes the hill for Boston, which heads to New York to face the Yankees over the weekend. Right-hander Marcus Stroman gets the nod Monday for Toronto at Rogers Centre. Pomeranz (13-4, 3.18 ERA) has been a steady presence in the Red Sox's rotation, winning a career-high seven straight decisions and tossing six or more innings in seven of his past 10 starts. He allowed just two hits over 5 1/3 innings and struck out nine Wednesday in a win against the Indians. "[He threw a] fastball up that was getting past our barrel," Indians manager Terry Francona said after the game. "And then, [he had] a very good curveball -- threw it for strikes, threw it for strike-to-ball. He coupled that with the fastball that he kind of rode for the most part up, out over the zone. He really gave us fits." Meanwhile, Stroman struggled against the Rays on Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision. Usually an innings eater for the Blue Jays, Stroman has tossed at least six innings in seven of his past 10 starts. "Balls are flying out these days. Just is what it is," Stroman said after the game. "I didn't make particularly good pitches." Three things to know about this game • Stroman is 4-2 with a 4.47 ERA in nine career starts against the Red Sox. In two starts this season, he's 0-1 with a 4.77 ERA. • The Red Sox have won 13 of Pomeranz's past 17 starts. He's 10-1 with a 2.48 ERA over that span. • Pomeranz has allowed two or fewer earned runs in 10 of his 12 road starts. 6. KC were swept this weekend without scoring a run against Cleveland, out scored 20-0. The Indians are in the driver's seat in that division.
  7. Nah... I think series threads are the right call, moving forward. We can just update line-ups prior to the games.
  8. His dad, older brother and himself have had that nick all their lives, apparently.

  11. Man... Biagini hasn't pitched well at all, as a starter.
  12. That pick-off looms now JD, after that rip by Smoak.
  13. Holy crap Rhys Hoskins... c'mon Cubbies win this damn game!!
  14. Meh, he has nothing to hang his head about, he was a beast and that HR will forever be etched in baseball fans minds.
  15. Yeah, the former is the reason why I think he might walk away.
