Oct 3, 5:20 PM Russell, Addison SS Addison Russell Suspended 40 Games .Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell has been suspended 40 games after violating Major League Baseballs domestic-violence policy. The suspension will be retroactive to September 21 and Russell will miss most of the first month of the 2019 season. Russell, 24, is eligible for arbitration, but it is unknown at this time if the Cubs are going to continue to employ Russell.
