No, most of that article was conjecture by the author, no, he still had another year and an option, and no, hindsight he was good.

Good point, but didn't Atkins just go through this situation, if I recall correctly? Also Gibbons thought his retirement was going to be easy but he got the itch to get back in baseball the following year by his account.

He still could, the guy's a beast TE with WR hands, he could play for 4/5 more years easy taking one year deals. One of my favourite players to watch his blocking/footwork and speed are 2nd to none at the position, he's also Brady's favourite target, should be fun. But I could see him signing in Buffalo.
