  1. I got a REALLY good feeling about this season, I think play offs. Can anyone break down the Vlady options for me very briefly? I don't really know how trading works yet.
  2. Got the winning start in game one, since then it's been a bit sore though. I got up way early this morning to watch the full replay of us getting beat 10-0. How does something like that happen?
  3. Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeee Jays Game here in Scotland kicking off at 8. I feel a winning start in our future.
  4. I actually looked at tickets (they send me ticket links almost every week, it's awful) and I saw you could get some ok seats for 20 bucks. 3
  5. Right and I suppose it enables the ballclub to make money while they do it - because obviously you could do this behind closed doors more easily and be more medically sound.
  6. Batter up! Why does the pre-season go on so long in baseball? Isn't playing this many games bad for the players, soft tissue damage stuff like that? Is it necessary to extend the season this far? Seems wild. I am watching today's game and I was surprised how sad it made me feel - i'm so far away from Toronto and the Blue Jays. My Canadian will go back next year, but probably I won't go with her so It will be 2026 I think before I see a game, the earliest. Looks like a sunny day.
  7. I heard people say (on the enemy commentary) that we have a "low energy bench". Is that true?
  8. Well this is almost like tempting me to wish for a victory in my very first third of a season as a baseball fan...but I get it, one at a time, starting Tuesday. I'll get the Tuesday game live (about 2140 here) but I'll miss the Wendesday game - but I'll get the Thursday game. Hopefully it is settled by then!
  9. That is so great. All I pay for are BJ games, so maybe that does actually make sense. They asked me to pit a tick in the box for other teams I was interested in and I just laughed and laughed. Thanks for that. What's your prediction for this Minnesota series? Do you think we will just get a hiding? I kind of feel like there are pieces missing but I couldn't explain why.
  10. So apart from being there, the real thrill for me has been watching us glide into the playoffs which everyone kept saying was a sure thing but we kept f***ing losing. That two nil loss on Friday was especially difficult. The weekends are a great joy to us, we now watch two BJ games on Saturday - one starting at just after midnight "on Friday" and then another one at just after 8pm on Saturday night, but there have been some tough nights...anyway, what happens now? When will we know the fixtures list? Do I have to pay extra on MLB TV for playoffs? I'd sort of assume so.
  11. I do love it. I absolutely love it. It brings a tear to the eye in fact, as a boxing fan that is subjected to the likes of Fite TV and DAZN. The channel already knew I was a BJ fan - presumably because of some sort of tie in with ticket sales, which is absolute genius. Every time I log on, there it is, bang, BJ link right at the top of the page, no messing. I got the channel selection wrong a couple of times and ended up watching enemy commentary But even that was an education. Long live the Blue Jays. Long live MLB TV.
  12. I had an absolutely fantastic time. That's me a BJ fan now, heh heh, for real though. We loved it so much we got tickets for Washington the Thursday after, which was also an absolutely excellent game. Kirk emerged as my favourite, 5'8 230, that's my kind of athlete. People were so nice. At one point I signalled for a beer and was in the middle of the row. So I had to horse it along to the crazy guy running about with beers (unthinkable here) passed everybody, apologising as I went and everyone was giving it "no problem." One woman actually said, "no, don't apologise, we want you to enjoy your time here." The guy in front of me kept showing replays of stuff from his phone, his wife kept telling him "make sure the Scotsman sees." Toronto overall made a fine impression. Canada generally was a place I liked very much. It's going to be very hard to follow the Jays from home. There is an MLB broadcaster here, but they run a sort of game of the week type thing, it's not like over there where you can see every Blue Jays game live (it felt like) and get detailed highlights later at night. I hoped there might be a way to subscribe to a Blue Jays package, but no luck. Any advice? Any YouTube channels that are particularly good at keeping people up to date? There must be a couple of podcasts you guys can recommend? Also, how do I get to become a good baseball fan? How do I learn about the game without playing it, the finer points etc. The level of information available at the ground was outstanding. The spectator at the ground really is a priority for the Blue Jays. Here, we have problems with the enormous TV contracts taking centre stage and the spectator becoming an afterthought. That is absolutely not the case at the stadium, the staff at the gate were brilliant, the beer lines moved fast, that you can even get a beer there is mind blowing, I absolutely loved it - and it was nice to see two wins!
  13. Magic, for sure it is starting to come together. Now I just have to learn the rules.
  14. It is 2320 here now, must get my head down, see you guys tomorrow.
  15. This is an outstanding answer across the board, apart from the thing about Ohtani who google tells me plays for another club. I hate that guy. I'll find out who Bo or Vlad is and pick one of them! I can't wait to eat these brisket nachos, sounds amazing. I understand it will be a terrible rip-off, that's normal for Scottish stadium also, the difference, hopefully, is that the food in Scottish stadiums is absolutely disgusting and the Blues take care of their fans properly. I'll find some 92/93 s*** if it kills me...tell me, new friend, what are our chances against the cursed Guardians? Will we batter them? Cleveland are the worst (Apart from NY).
  16. Hello, thank you for clicking on my thread. I am traveling from Scotland to Toronto in August and managed to get tickets to see the Blue Jays DESTROY The Guardians. I have never been to a baseball game before and need some help with some things, please "pitch" in, ha ha ha. 1) Who are our ENEMIES? Who do we most like beating, apart from The Guardians who i want to DESTROY the most. 2) Who is my favourite player, and why? 3) What are the best things to eat at the stadium? I will be standing up and shouting a lot. 4) What is the key apparel? Should I wear a cap, a shirt, if so, whose name should be on it, is there maybe someone from our club's proud history I have a soft spot for? Thank you all brothers and sisters, I am delighted to be with you now.
