  1. They needed a long reliever that can be a sacrifice lamb if needed, after the Angels series.
  2. They gave him a one year extension so he wouldn’t be a lame duck this year. A one year extension is hardly a legitimate vote of confidence.
  3. His BABIP is extremely low, despite the fact he’s hitting line drives about 20% of the time. Also, projections have him a lot better than that.
  4. He’s had five years where he’s been quite a bit better than that, and has been one of the most consistent starters in baseball for his entire career, tho. So I’m still very much confident in Berrios long term.
  5. Sometimes it takes a while for guys to develop their game power. Hopefully, it comes eventually.
  6. Not sure if that’s visible, doesn’t appear to be. But this is what I posted: https://www.fangraphs.com/projections.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&type=zipsp2&team=0&lg=all&players=0&sort=8,d
  7. It’s probably the hardest hit ball he’s had hit at him in his life. Probably a bit shook, tbh. And it still should have been called out. He did what he had to do to get the out, but the umpires let him down.
  8. 120 mph you can barely see the ball. That’s 25 mph faster than what is characterized as “hard it”.
  9. He didn’t screw it up, tho. He made the play. Stanton was out.
  10. It was literally the hardest hit ball this season. And he was clearly out.
  11. We’d probably score more if the umpires gave us 5 out innings, too.
  12. These dudes would go crying to their mother if they got hit by that ball.
  13. Manoah vs Judge is a much better matchup for the Jays than Manoah vs Rizzo.
  14. Could be the new ball.
  15. Gausman has 41 strikeouts and 0 walks.
  16. Would you prefer Trent Thornton facing their best hitters right now?
  17. Crazy thing is the Gurriel ball actually had an xBA of .290, and the Chapman ball had an xBA of .950.
  18. I have no idea how to embed tweets on this board, sorry.
  19. Take a hike, Bauer.
  20. This made me literally LOL
  21. Maybe the manager felt he didn’t hustle on that ball off the wall? Who knows. I think that would be a very stupid reason to bench him. But I’ve seen dumber things happen.
  22. Calling him a lard ass is pretty unnecessary, but the guy is super awkward. Makes me cringe every time he speaks.
