This doesn't make sense. Happ and Donaldson are some of the best players the Blue Jays have and you want to get rid of them???? What about getting rid of the players that have continually shown the inability to play at the major league level like Biagini. He's been sent down to the minors more time than I change socks. He had issues at the end of last year and continues to prove time and time again he can't pitch. How do I know? Go into ANY sportsbar and listen to what happens when he walks out of the bullpen. All you hear is a massive groan and comments like "Welp this ones a loss." Fans KNOW he can't pitch to save his life, some even get up and leave. Seen this happen time and time again at the local Boston Pizza.
WHY the hell get rid of players that make the Blue Jays a better organization and keep those players that are perennial disappointments? The way ahead is NOT trading off talent and keeping the no talent bums, but getting rid of the bums and getting new talent. It makes no sense to get rid of one of the best pitchers in the MLB for an unknown. IT does make sense to get rid of a waste of space, for new talent. With thinking like this, the blue jays will never amount to anything until we start thinking how to keep the talent we got and get rid of the bums. Why trade down when it's SO much easier to trade up? It's better to deal with the angel you know rather than risk a round with the devil you don't know. The Jays have already added great new talent with the likes of Teoscar Hernandez, Curtis Granderson, Yangervis Solarte, and Aledmys Diaz. This is what needs to happen, swap out the non performers with talent that performs. NOT getting rid of the performers for unknowns. The way forward is to trade UP not give away the best talent the Blue Jays have. Keep the performers and get rid of the bums.
Well hell, why not throw in Justin Smoak and Kevin Pillar. You should be able to get something for them too. Maybe add in Russell Martin and Devon Travis? Why not just trade away all talent and try going for broke with a bunch of unknowns? Who knows if the person you're getting in trade WANTS to be in Toronto? Thinking like this only leads to one thing..... a stronger opponent and a weaker team. But hey, if you want to risk everything on a gamble, hop to it.
I just thank the good lord above that it's not people like these that are making the decisions at front office. The day that they start making bad decisions like this is the day I start turning off Blue Jays games. I know from speaking with my friends, the day they traded/fired Biagini, would be a great day for the fans around here. At least send his butt back to AAA or AA and leave it there.
