IF the Jays could trade Bautista they would. He sure as s*** isn't going to re-sign after this season, so it's worth exploring the possibility of moving him. Failing that, at the end of the campaign, the Jays qualify him, he rejects (naturally) then moves on to sign with another club and Toronto gets a first rounder in return. End of story.
So there's nothing wrong with looking into the possibility of trading him. It may not happen, but.......
