  1. The Jays can afford and would be willing to fill positional players via freeagency. The problem with freeagency is the cost of pitching it is much cheaper to draft and develop and or trade for pitching as the market rate for an ace is probably 180-200+ million over 6 or 7 years. The Jays can always restock the farm system through the draft as AA has done.
  2. True it would also depend on how the Indians value the Jays major league talent and prospects.
  3. Shields would be a good idea if the Padres were to eat some of that contract. The Jays need a veteran pitcher who can eat innings as Dickey and Buehrle will most likely be gone after the season. Shields has been very durable in his career and, he also has playoff experience and has pitched in this division before, which are both valuable.
  4. I agree, however Dickey has pitched well as of late, he has just been unlucky due to a lack of run support.
  5. Okay, thanks for clearing that up, I thought SRF's ceiling was as a number 2 or 3 starter. I am just a little bit weary of giving up Hutch despite his inconsistencies he is a good pitcher.
  6. How would this look as a rotation if AA was able to pull a couple of trades off? Carrasco Shields or Ross Hutch Buehrle Dickey
  7. Doesn't SRF have a similar ceiling to Hutch or am, I wrong?
  8. No to Hutch in that scenario, I would rather keep Hutch. The Jays could include SRF instead.
  9. I would honestly prefer a combination of Shields and Carrasco if possible.
  10. Blue Jays Deadline Targets Starters - One of: Shields Carrasco Ross Cashner Relievers - One of: Chapman Kimbrel Benoit Kelley
  11. Hopefully Izturis is able to hold the second base job at least until Travis is ready or the trade deadline. The Jays have good enough hitting to compete but the bottom of the order has to find a way to at least get on base.
  12. Well if Goins is actually able to hit somewhat in spring training he may make the team but not likely. Travis could impress in the spring.
  13. Yeah, I know, I was just trying to start a conversation. I am actually hopefull that Travis impresses so Goins can go back to the bench or AAA
  14. Who do you guys think will start at second at least to start the season? I would expect Izturis starts over Goins if Travis doesn't impress in spring training no?
  15. I agree there is absolutely no reason to move Dickey unless the Jays can get an upgrade on Dickey. The most logical thing to do is have Martin catch Dickey and get rid of Thole
  16. Shields would also be another clubhouse leader which would be good for the Jays younger pitchers however, the Redsox or Yankees might chase Shields if they miss out on Scherzer.
  17. That would be a good idea and the Jays could put Sanchez in the pen and Shields would bring their starter's projected win total to 67. However with that being said, I don't know if there is mutual interest between Shields and the Jays and the fact that Shields will probably sign with the Redsox unfortunately. The Redsox will outbid the Jays on AAV and term
  18. It wasn't so much him abusing me as it was others on the forum abusing me but he still allowed to go on and he probably thought it was funny which explains why he didn't do anything and then when, I tried to stick up for myself he kicked me and refered to me as a troll. Sorry about the confusion should have been more direct.
  19. Agreed this would be a good gamble providing he rebounds and at worst the Jays could just use him as a bench bat/utility player/pinch runner
  20. Looks like good although, I think Morrow comes back as a depth starter if he does decide to come back that is.
  21. I think the Jays need right handers in the pen not more leftys
  22. I would love to have Crain on this team!!! Ogando is interesting didn't he start for the Rangers?
  23. The question with Anderson is not if he can perform but can he stay healthy? Well he would be a good pickup he is talented but injury prone. The Jays could still use more depth in the outfield in case of injury to Saunders.
  24. I know it is illogical Stoeten makes no sense whatsoever.
  25. I was joking with the salary comment lol,I would rather them get Lowrie.
