    If there was a position for AA to solely managed the position players he'd be an ideal gM....as great as he is at managing the position players he is commensurately as awful when it comes to managing pitching. I still wonder as to what other contributing factors are involved here, Jays have had the reputation of a Home Run hungry team, maybe from a marketing standpoint the higher ups were satisfied with a team full of sluggers. I seem to enjoy the Jays games much more when I only tune when they are at the plate, then when that half of the inning ends I just change the channel haha.

    "Feldman gave up three in the first and then he settled in," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "He's a proven, crafty veteran." I want quotes on our pitching situation. The offense can't score 6 runs a game to bail this staff out. I think we will have to put up with this until the All-Star break, then head's will roll. AA neglected pitching this offseason and instead decided to boost up the offense (which was already a strength of this team), you cannot overcompensate for such poor pitching with a superb offense.

    Well...this season comes down to pitching. Jays will most likely have the most potent offense, but pitching is the wild card here, and we all know you can't go too far without adequate pitching.

    Well as fans we'll always be disenfranchised really, unless the GM took advice from fans, which if he did, I'd suggest he gets canned. Fact is, AA can't make big moves right now, fans need to be patient until the offseason. Irrespective though, forcing gargantuan moves could set this team back further possibly, like it did when we traded for Dickey. I don't care to risk any more pitching prospects for veterans at this time. The rotation really needs to be built internally for us to succeed.

    Great to see the Nationals display some road perseverance...I am most definitely rooting for a game 5 here Werth, Laroche and Desmond need to get going though, can't rely on Harper for everything.

    Yikes what a killjoy ...the statue would be built just to encapsulate fond memories not to immortalize these guys as some deity.

    Does a guy like Bautista really need to look for a fall back as to why this team didn't make the playoffs? He was nothing short of impeccable in the 2nd half (heck, he was the only exciting thing about Blue Jays baseball in the 2nd half), he did just about everything he could to keep this team competitive. I don't think he would be looking for excuses as to why his team faltered when he doesn't have much control over how his teammates perform.

    I have to be honest, I never would have believed that stat unless I saw it with my own eyes. Giants seem to get the best out of the bottom of their lineup as they are adept at getting on base. Should be interesting how they perform without Pagan and possibly Morse in this series.

    I personally don't care about "character" in that situation. I care about winning ball games, and their outcry showed me that they genuinely cared improving the roster in order to contend for the playoffs. These are baseball players, not C-Suite employees. As fans, I don't see how their cathartic relief effects us, we just want to see the team contend at the end of the day.

    Of course I'd rather qualify and get obliterated a la the Pirates than have a meaningless September. The run to the playoffs is analogous to the playoffs itself in a way. I am all for meaningful baseball in September, anything can happen in a one-game wild card playoff (hence why I am not much of a fan of that system).

    I've always appreciated Kawasaki as a bench option. He wears down pitchers and is reliable defensively. Of course he has no power and isn't much of a base stealer, but if we can't trade or sign an upgrade this offseason I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench. When I say bench though I mean 150 PAs or so, not almost 300.
