  1. This is not true. Kloffenstein only signed for 2.45 million, so that is 996,200 over. You are allowed to go over the bonus pool by 5% with no penalty, which nets the Jays an extra 399,105. Therefore, total savings the Jays need to find from their other signings at the moment is 597,095.
  2. Up until yesterday Griffin Conine and his Duke team were still playing in the College baseball playoffs. Why would we have heard anything when he is supposed to still be concentrating on playing? The same would apply to all the College drafted players that are still playing.
