AA should have known better. If you are in 'win now' mentality you fork up the cash and go for broke even if it means overpaying for a front of the rotation starting pitcher like Shields or Shertzer. Our rotation and bullpen was shakey enough without the additions of 4 rookie pitchers that are 22 and younger. Yes they are very talented but you'd be stupid to not expect a bunch of bumps along the road (Osuna has somehow been virtually flawless). Even Hutch is only a year removed from his first full MLB season. These young arms need time to develop. Problem is time isn't exactly on the side of aging vets like Dickey, Bautista, EE, Reyes etc. Kinda seemed like AA had just one foot in the door with his win now mentality. Its a shame because its really hard to imagine the Jays competing with this current rotation, and our aging players certainly aren't gaining more value by us hanging onto them any longer.
