I loved what AA had done with the farm system but I'm starting to think much of it might be attributed to luck or scouting team.
List of transactions I've seriously questioned WHEN THEY HAPPENED:
napoli flip... wtf he had a hot second half of the season with the angels, why trade for an old reliever... not like JP had proved anything at that point except that his defense was questionable... and nap was a DH or 1st base candidate.
lowball bid on Yu Darvish... I was following his coming over to the MLB for a long time and it was fairly obvious it would take between 45-65 million to win the bid for this pitcher who was MUCH better than Dice-K and had BETTER STUFF.
Considering the other 60 million or so for the contract of the player wouldn't go towards lux tax, a risk I thought was perfect for this team and one that AA would take.
failed attempt at getting Latos... a legit 1-2, would of been nice but whatever
Trade some major pieces from the farm for a very old starter who had 1 CY young out-lire and possibly 1-2 other decent season IN HIS CAREER
can we please get a stats guy as our next GM
