If someone wants to generate the draft list (do the lottery as well as confirm how the playoff results translate to draft order), I will convert all the picks on the spreadsheet to the firm numbers. I'll wait a bit to actually generate the draft sheet as I'm sure lots of trades will happen.

I updated the league history following the conclusion of our 4th season. Congratulations Silvergun for winning the DDL title. And as others have mentioned, congratulations on being the founding member of multiple championship club. Your team looks like the definition of a dynasty with young talent ready to fill in at multiple positions. The Prime Minister's trophy was captured in convincing fashion by Silvergun's London Slayers, his first. Congratulations to our runner up NJH for a great year. Congratulations to our division winners Fearthedoc, NJH, Dr. Dinger, and Silvergun. Boxy has reclaimed his title of Town Bike from KK's clutches. Our collective condolences. Fun DDL records; - We still do not have a multiple DDL runner up - Dinger continues to add on to his 'longest consecutive division title' streak (and looks primed to continue for a year or two). - Four teams have maintained their streak of most consecutive playoff births. Congrats Dinger, Min, NH, and FTD. Who will be the first to drop out of this prestigious club? - Dinger has maintained his position of top winning % for league history. Thinking of moving this OS; Justin Turner; Losing 1B next season, and I already have Seager at 3B. Monster second half with more pop than expected. Would love to get a long term option of 1B, but am open to offers Eduardo Nunez; Finally picking it up in SF after slowing down after the trade. Given the last year and a half a .285/.325/.430 slash isn't unreasonable. Combine that with 40 steals out of a SS with a bit of pop, he's actually a decent option. I've got depth at SS so I wouldn't mind moving him. Travis d'Arnaud; Really just looking for a challenge trade at a different position. Disappointing year, but there is upside. Positions wanted; SP, 1B, CF I'm also buying RPs that people can't carry through the deadline. Inquire within.

That's probably a cleaner solutions than giving him a waiver pick that only triggers when Otani declares. Only thing to clarify is that he gets called up when he signs so he isn't sitting in limbo (or on his MiLB roster till the next cut-down for some reason)

With OT we did a few MiLB picks. I wonder if we should consider top waiver picks as those can more quickly turn into an impact MLB player. Rolling it around in my head, you could even leave the option with Hurl. Choose where the pick should be (1, 1B, etc) then say its a MLB/MiLB pick to be decided by Hurl as we get closer to drafts. Only issue with that is it leaves uncertainty with teams that have a top pick in terms of if their asset will be #1 or #2 which could affect trading.

Josh Hamilton back in the day. I really think that is the case study. Known ongoing issues with drugs and drinking. I literally wouldn't have been surprised for a second if he OD'd any given day. And he was a top asset. This is the case study.

I never had an issue with you being compensated for Taveras, but I don't think this situation is the same. As an interesting case study. If someone had Josh Hamilton back in the day and he OD'd, would that have been part of the risk of investing in him in dynasty? Or would his owner be entitled to the same compensation vs a situation like this which is seemingly a random and tragic loss?

I think they way they die is important. If my ace shoots up with drugs, gets super addicted and f***s his career, I'm not getting compensation. If he does the same but OD's, I do? Doesn't seem like what we are trying to achieve. I'm also in favour of firming up the rules for compensation. What qualifies, what preciously the compensation should be. I don't really like the game of trying to compensate depending on just how good the player was. I don't think anyone here would, but I can imagine a situation where someone has to argue about how 'good' his asset was compared to other compensations.
