  1. I kinda like the shut out cat. sort of a wild card/equalizer that gives the matchup a bit of flavor. i wouldn't be opposed to removing it- but was wondering if it could be replaced with another goalie category. at least for this season. if we plan to change it for next season, folks have time to plan a draft strategy. this league is tremendously goalie dependent. i planned my draft around goalies. to replace a SO cat with an offensive skater stat will very much alter the league. the whole nhl is incredibly goalie dependent. stronger skaters and new metrics for analysis should result in massive increases in scoring but the goalies keep that at bay with their raw talent and ability. i think this league should reflect that. makes it more fun. So if we change it my request is to change it to a different goalie stat, and if it's being changed to an offensive stat, that it happen next year.

  9. Jeremy Smith may be the early favorite to become Boston's backup goalie to start the season. Advice: He was great for Providence during his first year with the team in 2014-15. Smith does have some good AHL experience under his belt and the 26-year-old netminder may be hitting his stride at the right time for the Bruins. "Coming into camp, I think so," Smith said about the good chance he has of sticking with the big team. "But there are going to be five or six goalies in camp, so that's a lot of guys. But this is an opportunity. I think every year's an opportunity. But it's up to me. It's all performance-based." Malcolm Subban, Zane McIntyre and Jonas Gustavsson, who is on a PTO, are expected to be his main competition.

  12. Considering what we now have: it's an automatic two wins against the starts we have to face if he was a Yankee. We're now in second wildcard territory at least. If we lock them up in Rogers coughs up the money for an extension (like they said they do), then I have no problem with this. Wow David Price is a Jay
