This all brings me back to listening to PTS on the way home from work during the Farrell saga and hearing those clowns clamoring for Joe Torre. Obviously they never saw the end of his managing career where he was making awful decision after awful decision in LA, or how he never had a season of more than 90 wins prior to 1996 (first year with the Yankees.)
Terry Francona is another guy people were clamoring for, and he lost 90 games twice in four seasons with Philly, and never had a winning record. He was out of managing from 2001-2003, then becomes a sensation when he's in charge of a very good team. Bunch of nonsense. I like Gibbons because I feel he doesn't take s***, he's laid back and doesn't panic, manages bullpens and platoons players properly, and isn't a big fan of the bunt. I fail to see how any of this is on him. He's not playing the games.
