  1. So if I called for Bautista to be moved after his initial big year and he had a bigger year in 2011, who cares? OMG, I didn't see a bigger year coming???? Lets end this. I hope the Jays keep Bautista until he's 40. He can retire at the Winter Meetings....Jays fans can have a little cry and everything will be right again as whispers of JB's non-HOF career get bandied about. Sound about rite?
  2. I guess at the time he was baseball's version of Luke Perry.
  3. If I did, it must've been muddied in with the argument I had with Kofi about being used as a FT UTIL player at multiple positions. Link up the trade talk before his monster season, because I 100% remember wanting to use him as a FT Super UTIL.
  4. Is it hindsight when I called for a Bautista trade after his monster season?
  5. So you're not a fan of what the Rays do?
  6. Those extra Bautista premium wins come in real handy on a non-playoff team.
  7. I wasn't saying he isn't an asset. I'm saying we could've moved him at his peak instead of watching something diminish in value on a team going nowhere. And anyone who thought he would've continued on his torrid out of nowhere pace is silly.
  8. My guess is we ride him into the ground or let him walk via free agency. Sound asset management.
  9. There's zero chance Tampa or the Pirates are making those trades. And I would easily move Edwin for Myers straight up.
  10. Remember when Bautista was elite....whew, those were the good ol' days.
  11. Seeing as others were talking small samples, I figured Anderson could be considered elite as well.
  12. Would you do Myers straight up for Edwin?
  13. I agree, I'm all about re-stocking the farm with prospects and using the money saved elsewhere. My MO doesn't change like others on here does.
  14. I'd move him for 3 or 4 prospects and use the money saved to fill a portion of his lost production on the 25 man. I agree moving him for Price would be dumn. But come on, lets stop cherrypicking stats and framing things up here to suit an argument.
  15. Sorry dude, I look at things slightly bigger than one & two year sample sizes to crown someone elite.
  16. My issue is with the people slobbering all over Edwin like they did Bautista a few years ago, "he's the best".....and as Jose has turned into a declining asset, now is the time to trade him. These same people love the Rays model of trading guys when its time to move them. But when its in Blue Jay-land, "nope can't trade Bautista", "nope we can't trade Edwin".........I guess its the relationships they've conjured up with the players that prevents them from wanting to trade them.
  17. And Brady Anderson is one of the greatest players off all time.
  18. I'd think milestones come into a players mind, as well as significant injuries not stopping a player cold like Halladay, but the gradual erosion of skills and not recognizing it.
  19. I agree. But when the others are inducting mediocre players its lost its relevancy already. In the future they can't say, well you really weren't that good, so we're removing you from the HOF...its too late. I'd rather Bonds be kept out and hold ultra tight standards than inducting junk players in, just to make players feel good about themselves. I also believe there's a group talk of the MLB voters beforehand determining what they're gonna do. So the retarded votes like BJ Surhoff can happen because it doesn't really affect the outcome the voters determined beforehand.
