RF Yusniel Diaz who was supposed to be the key piece of the trade is looing like a bust. 3B Rylan Bannon, who might be a utility guy if were lucky. SP Dean Kremer, who looked promising at the end of 2020 but has completely regressed and spent most of the 2021 in the minors and pitched poorly there. I still think he could be a back of the rotation guy, but he needs to rebound. RP Zach Pop who could have been a back end of the bullpen type but we let him go. Still hasn't performed in the majors like that, but I could see us regretting letting him go. INF Breyvic Valera lastly, who really is not much of anything and really wasn't expected to be.
Bottom on line, they should have extended Machado earlier, or traded him earlier. Instead they held on to him until he had a 1/2 season control left on him and of course got less value for it.
