Ricciardi was pretty decent, he just rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. And he had to gut the payroll in his first couple years making a lot of people hate him right at the start, i.e. the Carlos Delgado situation. It didn't help that he also said obviously dumb things. "It's not a lie if we know the truth." Actually, that's the very definition of what a lie is. -
It's pretty depressing to see the types of guys Texas was bringing in to pinch hit in the 9th innning, compared to the scrubs on the Jays main lineup. One team is a winner, the other is not. I see the Jays taking all season just to get to .500, and then having to listen to 'well it was a great recovery, they showed a lot of spirit and what this team is really about,' all winter long.

Exactly. The more pressure put on Lawrie to be a leader and to ignite the team, the more the team will be deflated when he inevitably goes down again. He can never be relied on in that way. And I fear the same may be said for Bautista and his injuries.
