  1. If saggy ass is a side effect of roid usage, then yeah Maddux was jacked.
  2. And hopefully we're not paying that price.
  3. They should move Colby for something. I'm not interested in seeing an extension.
  4. Propel the rotation to what? You still have a gaping hole at 2B, a stop gap catcher, a big question mark in LF if Melky's pencilled to start and you have another 11-13M/per maybe more on the books with Samardzija in-house. So Samardzija a nice now addition, on a team I don't see contending means what? Bigger name players on a team still a couple pieces away.
  5. If there's no moving of our veteran players during this season (a nothing season at this point with what they have) then things are going to start deteriorating. If you can get something for vets before they head off to free agency, retirement or just plain run into their mid 30's. You don't let them hang around for kicks, you move them.
  6. I guess if you have this need to watch phenomenal baseball or else. The Jays are team who cannot contend on a continuous basis with the big spending teams. So at some point your need for contention is going to let you down.
  7. You're in a different situation than me living in Toronto. My situation is, if someone asks me to go to a Jays game in advance the answer is either yes or no. Other outside factors like my schedule play into whether or not I want to go to a game. And when I travel abroad to see games, they have to have some significance or meaning.
  8. But when the current vets decide to retire and the Jays GM burdens us with expensive extensions for even older deteriorating players, the contention window will be closed. And when that window is closed the fanbase will be clamouring for a second major gutting of the farm. The impatience for immediate contention is laughable.
  9. I hope so, that window was broken from the start.
  10. I thought it was to make the Organization better? Guess under your train of thought Friedman isn't really all that bright seeing as most of his trades look to pay dividends in the near future/future. Its a shame the Jays went and got all hell bent urgent at winning and the fans lapped it up.
  11. I've been reading what you have and in my books kids that are in Rookie Ball and Low A, are a good 5 years away from being contributors at the MLB level.
  12. I don't care if they go all in with money, but further decimating the farm for this little window is beyond stupid.
  13. The problem is, what team is itching to trade their #1? And if they entertain trading their #1, you know a massive overpay is in order.
  14. I don't want Samardzija if Stroman or Sanchez is going the other way.
  15. The Jays aren't contending for the playoffs this year unless subsequent, significant moves are made on top of Samardzija, so why on earth are we talking about moving Sanchez for Samardzija?
  16. Haha. I guess it depends on whether you're buying your tickets beforehand, or have a choice whether or not you're going the day of the game. I'm rarely if ever a spur of the moment buyer and probably wouldn't go last minute if someone asked me to go, unless it was a significant game.
  17. I'm sure there's some people, but it isn't in the thousands per game. Might be a couple/few hundred.
  18. It doesn't matter if the Jays absolutely need Sanchez or not this year. He should not be in the majors this year, there's no reason.
  19. Determining when to go watch a game based on when a particular pitcher is pitching.
  20. I find it fascinating that very few people do this and you're one. That's why its interesting.
  21. There should be no rush, no matter how well Sanchez or the Jays are doing.
  22. I know. But why would these players need to be playing in order to buy tickets to the game?
  23. Not all season. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of those guys being tagged as a #4 or #5. Although I'd rather see Drabek moved to the 'pen.
